Because a missed relief can significantly affect vessel’s operations and can be costly, Pelican Marine Services’ mission is to provide shipowners with a perfect service in terms of operations. Supported by a quality management system, Pelican Marine Services ensures complete and integrated management of crew resources, from the definition of the crew requirements to the management of personnel careers.
SELECTION & RECRUITMENT
Experienced marine recruiters evaluate all submitted candidates and their documents. All previous experience is verified.
ORGANISATION SIGN-ON / SIGN-OFF
Arranging relieves being more and more challenging (visas, vessels’ tight schedules, delays, flight bookings…), the Operations Department is highly responsive and can supervise relief operations independently :
> Direct contact with the shipping agent
> Organisation of visas / “ok to board”
> Booking / purchasing plane tickets
> Providing Seafarers with the necessary information at the embarkation briefing
> Amend the voyage programme if necessary (24 hours a day, 7 days a week).
To speed up and simplify the shipowners’ tasks, each customer is allocated a specialised coordinator.
PAYROLL MANAGEMENT
Seafarers’ Employment Agreements (SEAs) are fully compliant with the MLC 2006. Wage levels and terms and conditions are agreed in advance between the shipowner and Pelican Marine Services.
Pelican Marine Services has developed an in-house software to manage crew wages efficiently.
Support is systematically provided to Seafarers who require clarifications or are facing transfer issues.
ASSESSMENT & TRAINING
Over the years, Pelican Marine Services has acquired a strong experience in organising training courses in recognised academies / training centres.
In coordination with shipowners, Pelican Marine Services can organise individual or group training courses in training centres located in Europe, North Africa and West Africa.
Thus, we benefit from a high seafarers’ retention rate.
TAILOR-MADE SERVICES
Pelican Marine Services adapts to its clients’ requirements and can easily integrate the company’s procedures (for instance, pre-boarding process) or organise seminars for crew members.
